Arizona Maternity Insurance Coverage If You're PregnantIf you are already pregnant, it is difficult to find health insurance companies who will insure you.However, don't despair. There are numerous Arizona maternity healthcare options available to you to get the necessary pre-natal care and to help you with your delivery. Read about the various tips in finding maternity health coverage if you're already pregnant, then come back here to familiarize yourself with the different low-cost or no cost medical coverage programs offered to Arizona families and children through the Arizona Health Care Cost Containment System (AHCCCS). AHCCCS is part of the State of Arizona and it provides health insurance to more than one-million Arizonans who needs medical services for themselves, their children or other members of their family. To participate in these programs, all individuals must be U.S. citizens or qualified immigrants. Please be aware that the income limits change each year. When looking at the income limits, it is important to remember that deductions are given for work expenses and child care, if applicable. SOBRA for Children SOBRA provides medical coverage to pregnant women. To qualify, your income must not exceed 150% of the Federal Poverty Level (FPL). There is no limit on the resources or property owned. If you wish to apply or find out more about SOBRA, you can call 1-800-352-8401. Baby Arizona Program Arizona has a Baby Arizona Program , which is a simple and faster way for pregnant women to get health care even before the application for AHCCCS health insurance is complete. You can apply for Baby Arizona if: you live in Arizona; don't have health insurance; have little or no income; and are United States citizen or qualified non-citizen. While the application process typically takes about 20 days, you may be able to receive immediate care. So if you're already pregnant and don't have Arizona Maternity Insurance Coverage, check out the Baby Arizona program. Pregnancy Hotline If you have any questions or if you need information on a variety of pregnancy-related topics, such as pregnancy testing, lactation, pregnancy counseling, low cost prenatal packages, you should call the Pregnancy and Breast feeding hotline at 1-800-833-4642. This is a service provided by the AHCCCS and the Department of Health Services to connect pregnant women with information and resources they need during pregnancy.
